Construction Lines

Construction Lines are non-printing lines.  They are used for accurate positioning and sizing.

PDF XChange - and other graphics programs - allow Construction Lines to be created simply by dragging from the horizontal and vertical rulers.

I would personally find such a feature useful.

One option is to draw your lines and assign them to their own layer. Then on the layers panel, you can deselect the checkbox for "Print" so that anything on that layer will not print.
