Earthwork Volume or grading
« on: July 14, 2020, 03:01:35 PM »

Does anyone have any tricks with Bluebeam to figure out volume with a graded slope?  I have a couple of work arounds, but I want something quicker and more efficient.

If you have a profile section, draw in the area of the cut/fill, then go to the Measurement Panel and give it a depth (into the page). These will give you the volume, update the to Cubic Yards or whatever you want the unit measurement to be.

Thank you.  I hadn't considered that, but that would work great!

Any ideas if you don't have a profile and only a plan view?  Again, with a slope.  My thoughts were you could do the top section as a triangle (for the slope)  and then below the lowest point on the slope, a volume measure.  While this should work, I am know needing to remember that I have two pieces I need to add together.

You could create custom area measurements with depths that match the contours. The markups list would give you totals.. I might have to do a video and blog post on this one!

I'm not sure if you caught my blog post regarding your question.  Here is the link. https://www.bluebeamandburgers.com/bluebeam-blog/forum-question-leading-to-a-civil-workflow-idea/
