Missing bottom panel (markups panel)
« on: May 26, 2017, 08:35:46 AM »

Asking this for my boss as I've looked and can't find an answer.  Somehow (and he doesn't remember how) he has completely removed/hidden the bottom panel where the markup "spreadsheet" is displayed.  The blue "pull tab" and everything is gone.  Any idea how to get that back?

For a coworker I was able to bring it back by switching their Profile under the View tab. Though I do not know what originally caused it to be hidden.

Thanks!  I'll give that a try when the boss gets back.  Neither he nor I know how he got it to disappear and I can't find any settings for it.

You can also check to see if the Markups tab is currently enabled.  Go to the orange carrot icon in the top left corner a see if the red pencil style icon has the blue outline around it.  it might have been accidentally hidden.  if that doesn't bring it back, then as mentioned before, just a quick profile swap can usually resolve display challenges.

Not sure what you mean by "orange carrot" (or caret?) in the top left corner.  This is the top left corner of my screen.  I don't see anything that fits that description.

It's at the far left of the command bar which you currently have turned off.  Hitting F9 will toggle that display.  By no means have to have that turned on, just another form of access to the tab display.  Can also be had by going to the View menu, then going to the arrow next to the Tabs button for the list of all the available tabs.

When I pressed F9, a dialogue came up asking me if I am sure I want to HIDE the Command Bar and to press F9 to get it back.  So Revu thinks it is on already.  When I press F9, the MENU BAR across the top (File, Edit, View, Document, etc) is what disappears and comes back.  Still no carrot/caret either way.  I can see it via the VIEW menu.  I will check with my boss later today to see if he has it selected.

OK - I had some time to play around the other day and found the answer.  The markups tab was showing in the left panel.  The right panel was fine.  There was no bottom panel - which was the problem.

If you select the markups tab (or any tab) in the left (or probably also on the right) panel and right click on it, a menu pops up.  One option is "Attach > Bottom" even though there is no bottom panel.  Select that option, and voila - the missing markup tab goes to the bottom and a bottom panel is created.  Somehow my boss must have moved the markups tab to the left panel and as that was the only tab in the bottom panel, the bottom panel disappeared.
