Amending Custom Properties

I have inherited from a colleague, some custom rectangles which have a set of custom properties populated. For example in the attached, MS-Reference, Module Type & Size etc.
I want to add to these custom properties, or create my own with custom properties, for example, weight etc. Can anyone explain how I can do this?

The custom properties are created when you create custom columns. You can watch this video to get started.
