Project Issue
« on: February 18, 2019, 09:39:08 AM »

Hello,

I have a large project set up with multiple word documents. My team is to go into the word documents and revise their sections as needed. We noticed that one team member modified the document, saved it and checked it in on Feb 6 (v5). Another team member went into the same document Feb 7 (v6) and did some revisions.
v7 comes along and the original team member noticed their changes were no longer there. Nobody deleted the information.
Any idea what happened?

You should be able to right click on the document in question in the Project in Studio and select "Revision History".  That might give you some clue to what has happened.

This is where i'm getting the version numbers from. v5 one team member 'A' made changes after checking out and back in. v6 Team member 'B' made changes, 'A's v5 changes were not present. 'A' had to add their changes again making it version v7.

we're concerned why this may have happened and if it will keep happening..

So when you open the version that was saved and checked in after the initial changes by "A" but before the next check out and changes by "B", (that would be v6) those changes by "A" aren't on that version document?  Or they just aren't carried over onto v7?  I'm assuming this progression based on what you wrote:

v5 exists
"A" checks out v5 and makes changes
"A" checks document back in and it becomes v6
"B" checks out v6 and makes changes - sees that "A's" changes aren't there.
"B" checks document back in and it becomes v7

"B" checks out v6 and makes changes - sees that "A's" changes aren't there. - Correct
"B" checks document back in and it becomes v7 - Correct, he had to re-do his original changes
