Printing with a date stamp

(1/1)

HCTP:
Greetings,

does anyone know if you can print to pdf's and get a date and time stamp applied automatically on the side? I searched but came up empty.

Steve:
Do you mean like a footer or stamp printed on a document that shows the date and time the document was printed?  And changes / updates each time the document is printed?

Not sure what you mean by "on the side".

HCTP:
yes that's exactly what I mean, date and time the document was printed. I meant on the side of the sheet, or at the top or the bottom.

Thanks

Steve:
This may work for you.

Go to the DOCUMENTS menu
Select HEADERS & FOOTERS
Choose ADD
Click in the location box where you want the info to print - there are 6 possible locations
Click the DATE button and select the date & time format you want
Use the formatting bar at the top to select font, font size, color, etc
Close out of the setting box
SAVE the document (I noticed it doesn't update when you print unless saved first.  It also doesn't update on screen until a print and a screen redraw happens.)

This header / footer should update to the print date and time each time you print.

Hope that helps!
