Bluebeam Revu > Revu iPad

Future iPad app status, reaching the end?

(1/1)

Scott:
Background-- (skip below for the news)
We have iPads in the field, and have been working through some frustrating issues. I recently reached out to Bluebeam about the sync function which currently orphans files on the iPad if they are moved in the Project to a different folder. In the past we could sync the iPad, it would mirror the Project, such that if we changed the folder structure (moved files to another folder in a Project on another computer), this would re-mirror to the iPads, now it will Sync the files that moved, but leave the original files on the iPad orphaned in their original spot. Just something more our field needs to be aware of so they understand which file to work with or remove from the iPad.

Sorry for the long explanation, this leads into the news shared and what the future may bring. See quote below from Bluebeam.

News Shared from Bluebeam--

--- Quote ---There are many cases with development involving this feature, but the resolution was to discontinue it.
Furthermore, any major development for the iPad app is reaching its end, so no additional features will be added or restored to the application. There will continue to be development for critical bug fixes, and we will continue to support the product.  In the near future, there will be additional news about new mobile device solutions for Revu.  We hope you'll stay tuned.
--- End quote ---

I can only guess what this means. Window tablets don't make sense in the field for our work, so I can only hope they have some better mobile device offering that is not reliant on some sort of network availability at all times.

W31Andrew:
They are probably referring to their new Bluebeam Drawings app they are developing. It is already available as a Beta on the Google Play Store for Android.

Steve:
That, and Project Atlas.
