Dashboard Link to open Bluebeam Studio
« on: September 15, 2017, 08:30:38 AM »

I created a Construction Dashboard and now I'm linking to different files, folder etc..
What I would like to do is have a button to open access to studio. (I saw it done in a be video so its possible  8) )
Not sure if this process is possible through the link tool.

Any help will be appreciate I just don't know what other steps are possible.

Are you asking about scripting for creating a Studio Session or for joining a Studio Session?  Either way, I don't see anything that in Revu's "actions" would do that.  It might be possible with JS.

What video did you see where it was done?

From the comments below the video, someone asked just one hour ago (what timing!):

"Question? How did you link Bluebeam studio?

create your 'edit action', choose 'hyperlink'. get your hyperlink by opening your studio session, right clicking on a file in that session, select 'properties', and copy the 'project path' into that hyperlink field.

There ya go!

I just needed to do this on a dashboard as well - but wanted to open the overall project - not a specific file.  I found that if you do the copy method outlined above for a specific file and then after you paste the hyperlink in the edit action box, just truncate the link back to just after the "/" after the project number, then the project itself opens.

Example:
Change the copied address of
"studio://studio.bluebeam.com/project_number/document_name.pdf"

to

"studio://studio.bluebeam.com/project_number/"

When I add the project link like you said above, a new window pops up (Open Project File)
I would like it to open in the side panel like the video showed.

It does open in the panel - but this window opens too so you can pick a file if you want one.  Just click CANCEL to close this dialogue box.  Then go to the panel and the full project should be there and open.
